Tomorrow it is Good Friday, and therefore it is a holiday.  

On Monday, April 13, Mrs. Mason will be attending some very informational online webinars to learn more about online learning and ways she can make it better!

A new version of the recording of The One and Only Ivan, read by Mrs. Mason, will be available in the classroom.  We heard that the audio would not play when one of our students tried it today.  The new version should work on all devices.  Please be sure to listen to the sections of the novel as they are posted.  We will be assigning work related to the novel, so it is important to stay up to date with the story.

Please continue to work on the assignments that were posted last Monday.  On Tuesday, April 14, we will be adding a new set of assignments in the Classwork section of the classroom.

Please visit the Google Classroom and listen to the recording Mrs. Mason made of The One and Only Ivan, pgs. 117-143.  Ms. Mawani's class has already finished it, and Ms. Yong's class is almost done, so we have to catch up!




We have had some activity in our Google Classroom.  Thank you to those students who have submitted work.  I have enjoyed seeing it, especially the responses to "How Have You Been?"



You may have questions about completing and submitting work in the Google Classroom.  For those who have not yet seen the instructions written by Mrs. Day, here they are:

Steps:

Read the assignment. Then decide if you are going to do the work directly on the computer or if you will do it on paper.

If you are going to do it on the computer, follow these steps:

1. Go to the Your Work box on the right side of the screen.
2. Click + Add or Create
3. Choose Create New Doc (or other tool)
4. Do the work in the document.
5. Return to the Classwork page
6. Click Turn in. The document you created from here is automatically attached with your name on it.

If you are going to do the work on paper or other medium, follow these steps:

1. Do the work and take a picture or pictures of your work, or scan it if you have a scanner***
2. Upload the images to your computer or device
3. Open up the assignment in the Classwork Tab.
4. Go to the Your Work box on the right side of the screen.
5. Click + Add or Create
6. Choose the File option
7. Drag the picture or pictures into the box
8. Click Upload and wait for the files to load.
9. The upload box automatically closes and returns you to the assignment.
10. Click Turn in

*** If you have an iPhone, you can use the Notes application to scan documents. Open Notes, create a new note, choose camera and then the option to Scan Documents is right on top.

Steps

1. Open the assignment
2. Click on the worksheet in the Your Work area
3. Do the work
4. Return to Classwork page
5. Click Turn in

Any work can be unsubmitted and refined after receiving feedback from teachers up until the Due Date. 

Remember to do a little work each day.  Please do it thoughtfully.
